Vishwakarma Iron & Steel Works

You can find us at Kamal Estate, specifically at number 54. We’re right near the Uttam Dairy on Keval Kata Road. The smell of the dairy is something we’ve gotten used to over the years. Our work is mostly about iron and steel, which means a lot of heavy lifting and sparks flying around. It’s a grit-under-the-fingernails kind of job. The workshop is always a bit dark and smells like oil and burnt metal, but that’s where we feel most at home. We’ve got some old machines that have been with us since we opened, and they still do the job better than some of the newer stuff. We don't have a website or a big marketing plan. Most of our work comes from people in the area who know we can handle the heavy stuff. Sometimes a customer comes in with a rough drawing on a piece of cardboard, and we have to figure out how to make it real. It takes time and patience, but we get there. We aren't a big factory, just a local shop with a few guys who know their way around a welding torch. The traffic on Keval Kata Road can be a mess in the mornings, but once we’re inside and the machines are running, we don't notice it much. We just keep working until the sun goes down and then lock up for the night.
