Deepankit Metal Works

Working at R-10 in the Gidc area means you get used to the sounds of industry pretty fast. Deepankit Metal Works is right in the thick of it. There is always a truck backing up somewhere or the sound of metal being moved around nearby. It’s not the quietest place to spend your day, but it’s where the actual work happens. The unit at R-10 is practical and straightforward. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just some old calendars and the tools we need to get through the orders. The floor is concrete and shows the years of use it’s been through with scratches and oil marks. It gets dusty, especially when the wind picks up across the industrial estate and blows through the open bay. We usually have our lunch together in a small corner of the shop, talking about whatever is on the news or just complaining about the heat in the afternoon. Gidc is a big place, and it’s easy to get lost if you don't know the plot numbers, but we’ve been here long enough that we know all the shortcuts. People around here are mostly just focused on their own production schedules. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby; you just walk in and find whoever isn't busy. It’s a straightforward way of living. We wear clothes that we don't mind getting a bit of grease on. It is just how it is.
