Vikas Handicrafts

You can find us at Plot No-A-403 in the Divya Jivan Flat area, right across from Samay Bunglow. We are out on Nikol, Naroda Road. This isn't a big shop with a glass front. It’s more of a workspace where we put things together. We do a lot of handicrafts, mostly small items that involve a lot of assembly and packing. My family and a couple of neighbors help out when we have a big order to get through. The living room and the porch often end up filled with boxes and bubble wrap. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes, but we make it work. We spend our days checking the quality of the materials coming in and making sure the finished pieces look okay before they get sent out. We don’t have a lot of fancy machines. Most of it is done with simple tools and a bit of patience. The road outside stays pretty busy, so there is always the sound of traffic while we work. We’ve lived in this part of Naroda for a long time, so we know everyone around here. People sometimes stop by to see if we have anything new ready. We don't do much advertising; most people just hear about us from someone else. It is just a small local operation where we try to stay busy and make things that people will find useful or pretty in their homes. That's enough for us.
