Meet Murti Arts

Our shop is number 25 in the Vasukanan Complex. It's right by the Nirnaynagar Under Bridge in Ghatlodia. If you know the area, the bridge is the main landmark. We've been in this little spot for quite some time now. Inside, it's mostly filled with statues and the tools we use to finish them. It’s a bit crowded with all the inventory, but we know where everything is. Mostly, we work on different types of murtis. Some are small, some are quite big and take up half the floor. People from around the neighborhood come in to look or ask about getting something specific for their home. It gets busy during festival times, so the shop stays open later than usual then. We use different materials depending on what's needed. Sometimes the paint takes a long time to dry because the air gets humid. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It’s just a few of us here. We deal with the dust and the paint smells every day. It's honest work. Sometimes the traffic under the bridge gets loud, but we get used to it. If you’re walking through the complex, you’ll see us. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the name above the door. Most people find us by word of mouth or because they live nearby in Ghatlodia. We just try to make things that look right.
