Our workshop is located near the Bhagwat Vidhyapith, right by the Umiya Campus Bus Stop on the S.G. Highway Road. It is a very busy area with buses and cars rushing past all day long. We spend most of our time here building ghar mandirs for people to put in their homes. There is usually sawdust all over the floor and the smell of wood glue in the air. We are not a big factory or a fancy furniture store. It is just a small place where we put things together by hand. We have some finished mandirs sitting in the front so people can see the different designs we make. Some are small and simple, while others have more detail on the domes and pillars. The afternoon sun hits the shop pretty hard, but we stay busy with the sanding and the polishing. We started this because we liked working with wood, and it just turned into a daily job. You might have seen us if you were ever waiting for a bus at the Umiya stop. We do not use any big marketing tricks. People just come in, tell us what size they need for their corner at home, and we see what we can do. It is messy work and our hands are always rough, but it feels good to finish a piece that someone will use for their daily prayers.
