Vagmine Dyestuff is our small business located at Plot No. C-1/200 in Phase-2 of the GIDC. We’ve been here for a good number of years. We mainly produce different kinds of dyes. It’s a messy job, but someone has to do it. The walls of our facility are stained with various colors from over the years. We don't bother painting them too often because they’d just get dirty again. Our team is pretty small, and we all wear many hats. One day I might be handling the accounts, and the next I’m helping load a truck because someone called in sick. We don’t have a fancy mission statement or anything. We just try to get the orders right and out the door on time. The GIDC area is always busy with lorries and workers. Sometimes it’s hard to even find a place to park my scooter. We’ve got a routine that works for us. We start the machines early and try to finish the main processing before the afternoon heat peaks. It’s a lot of hard work and manual labor. We don't use any high-tech marketing; we just rely on the fact that we've been around a while. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living in the industrial sector. We try to keep the gate closed to keep the dust out, but it never really works. The neighbor’s dog usually hangs out by our front door.
