We are located at 27, Vijay Estate in the Odhav area of Ahmedabad. Murlidhar Dyestuff Industries has been a part of this neighborhood for a long time. Odhav is a busy, gritty part of the city, and our estate is no different. We deal with dyes, so there is always a lot of pigment around. Sometimes you can tell what we’ve been making just by looking at the stains on the floor. It’s a hardworking place. We have old machines that still run perfectly because we take care of them. Our day starts early, usually before the sun gets too hot. We don't have a lot of formal rules or a big HR department. It’s more of a family-run feel where everyone just knows what to do. When a big order comes in, everyone chips in to get it out the door. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a polished image. Our focus is just on the production line. The roads around Vijay Estate can be pretty rough, and the monsoon season always makes things a bit of a challenge with the water, but we stay open regardless. We’ve seen many businesses come and go in Ahmedabad, but we’ve managed to keep our doors open by just sticking to what we know. It’s simple, direct work and it keeps us busy from morning till night. We have some tea together in the afternoon and then get back to the vats.
