Prakash Fabricators

We are tucked away in Phase-2 of the Gidc at Plot No. I-5635. If you come by, you’ll probably hear the welding machines before you see the sign. Prakash Fabricators is basically just a group of us who know how to put metal together. It’s hot work, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the metal roof. We wear our heavy gear anyway because safety matters more than being comfortable. The floor is covered in scraps and we have to sweep it every evening. We don’t really do anything fancy here. We take the raw sheets and tubes and turn them into whatever is needed. Sometimes it’s simple frames and other times it’s more complicated stuff. My father used to say that as long as the welds are strong, the rest doesn't matter much. We try to stick to that. It’s not a shiny place. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but we’d rather spend the money on better welding wire or fixing the cutter. The tea here is always strong and we take our breaks together. Most of the guys have been here for five or ten years. We know each other's families. It's a small community inside this industrial plot. We just keep doing what we know how to do, day in and day out.
