Working at Kamala Dyestuff Pvt. Ltd. means you are probably going to go home with some color on your clothes. We are located at Plot No. 4312 in Phase-4 of the GIDC. This part of the industrial estate is always humming with activity. Inside our gates, we handle a lot of different powders and liquids. It takes a lot of attention to get the batches right. If you walk through the production area, you will see drums stacked up and pipes running along the walls. It isn't a quiet place. The mixers make a steady thumping sound all day long. We have a small team here and most of us have been working together for years. We know who is supposed to be doing what without having to talk about it too much. Lunch breaks are usually spent sitting outside if the weather is okay, just to get away from the smell of the chemicals for a bit. The office is just a small room near the entrance where the paperwork gets done. We try to keep things moving so we don't fall behind on the schedule. Sometimes the power goes out in the GIDC and we just have to wait it out. It is a bit of a grind, but it pays the bills and we know the business well. There is always something that needs cleaning or a valve that needs a bit of a turn every now and then.
