Our place is at 3407/101 B in Phase IV of the GIDC in Vatva. If you've ever been to Vatva, you know the smell of chemicals is just part of the air here. We work with dyes, so there’s always some color on the floor or the walls. One day it might be blue, the next day red. It’s a messy business, but we like it. The lab is the most important part of our setup, even if it's small and cluttered with test tubes and jars. We spend a lot of time mixing things to get the shade just right. The drums of raw materials are stacked up in the back near the loading area. It’s a busy spot with trucks coming in to drop off powders and liquids. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the batches we send out are consistent. Sometimes the power goes out in the industrial area, and we all just sit outside and wait for it to come back. It gives us a chance to chat with the guys from the next unit over. We don't have a marketing department or fancy brochures. We just do our work and hope the results are enough. It’s honest work in a tough environment, but we’ve been at it long enough that it feels like home. You can usually find us wearing stained aprons and checking the mix levels.
