Abdullabhai Abdul Kader

Our business, Abdullabhai Abdul Kader, is situated at Plot No. 713, Phase-4, Gidc. It’s a family name, and we’ve been operating under it for a long time. The office doesn't have air conditioning in the back, so it gets pretty warm during the afternoons, but we’re used to it. We don’t do much in the way of marketing or trying to look bigger than we are. Most of our customers are people we’ve known for years, and they know where to find us. We handle a lot of different things, and the warehouse can get a bit disorganized when a big shipment comes in. We try to keep it tidy, but work comes first. There’s always someone drinking tea or checking a ledger near the front desk. We don’t have a website with moving pictures or anything like that. We just use the phone and the occasional fax if someone still has one. It’s a very old-school way of doing business, but it’s how we like it. We don’t have fancy mission statements on the wall. Instead, we have a calendar from three years ago and some photos of the family. If you come by to see us, don't expect a guided tour. We’ll probably just show you the stock and talk about the price. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place where we just focus on the day-to-day tasks.
