Universal Biomedicals

Our place is on the first floor of M K House in Shahpur. Being upstairs at Universal Biomedicals means we do not get as much walk-in traffic as the shops down on the street level, which is actually fine by me. It stays a bit quieter up here so I can focus. The stairs are a little bit steep, so carrying heavy boxes up and down can be a real workout some days. Shahpur is an old area, and the building has its own quirks, like the windows that do not always stay shut properly when it is windy. Inside, it is mostly just rows of shelves and a couple of old desks. We handle biomedical supplies, so there are always lots of small parts and glass pieces that need very careful handling. I usually keep a small radio playing in the corner just to have some background noise while I work. The floor is made of old tile and has a few cracks here and there, but it is sturdy enough. I have been in this building for a few years now and you get to know the other people working in M K House. We share the common areas and talk in the hallway sometimes during breaks. When the sun hits the front window in the afternoon, it gets pretty warm in here, so I have to pull the shades down. It is just a practical space where we get the daily work done.
