Umiya Industries

Our workshop, Umiya Industries, is located in the Chanduji Madhuji Estate over in Tavdipura, Shahibaug. It is one of those old industrial areas where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We have been here for a good stretch of time now. The estate has its own character, with narrow lanes and a lot of activity starting early in the morning. We usually get in before the sun is too high to beat the heat. The work we do isn't glamorous. It involves a lot of grease and heavy lifting. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to answer the phones in a fancy way. If the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. Shahibaug is a busy part of the city, and Tavdipura feels like the heart of the mechanical work around here. We have some old machines that still run better than the new ones, and we take care of them. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit of air when the machines are cooling down. It’s a noisy life, but we like it. The Chanduji Madhuji Estate has been our home for years. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out, making sure Umiya Industries stays running. It is a local life, and it suits us just fine. No fancy talk, just the usual daily grind and keeping the floor moving.
