S.Y. Steel & Pipe

Our shop is over at number 3, Ramesh Park Society in Usmanpura. If you know where the Panchsheel Bus-Stop is, you’ve basically found us. It’s a good spot because people can just hop off the bus and walk over. We handle a lot of steel and pipes here at S.Y. Steel & Pipe, and the yard gets pretty dusty when the wind picks up. It’s not a quiet job; there’s always the sound of metal clanging or the truck idling out front while we load up. The office is small and usually smells like tea and iron. We have some old chairs for people to sit on while we calculate the weights and prices on a notepad. We’ve been in Usmanpura for a good bit now, and we’ve seen the buildings go up around us. The road gets a bit crowded during rush hour, so getting the bigger pipes out can be a bit of a struggle, but we've got a system. We don't have a website or anything like that; we mostly just talk to the people who come to the door. Sometimes we stay late to finish a count, and you can hear the city noise dying down. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. We don’t go for anything flashy. We just keep the inventory organized the best we can and make sure the scales are working right every morning to get the jobs done for our regulars.
