Standard Pharmacy

If you go to Asarwa, right opposite Gate Number 6 of the Cancer Hospital, you will see where we are. Standard Pharmacy is up on the third floor of building 4/A. It’s a busy area because of the hospital, so there are always people walking around looking for help or medicine. We stay quite busy because of the location. Being on the third floor is a bit different for a pharmacy, but we have our regulars who know exactly where to go. The space is filled with shelves from floor to ceiling, mostly stocked with whatever the doctors across the street are prescribing. It’s a lot of standing around and talking to people, explaining how to take their pills or helping them find a specific brand. We see all kinds of people every day, and many of them are going through a tough time, so we try to be quick and quiet about our work. It’s not a fancy shop with bright lights and displays; it’s more of a practical place where the focus is on the inventory. We spend a lot of time on the phone with distributors making sure we don't run out of the important stuff. The stairs can be a bit much for some, but we just keep the door open and stay ready. It’s been our daily life for a long time, just making sure the right medicine gets to the right person.
