Shri Umiya College Of Education

Shri Umiya College Of Education is tucked away inside the Pooja Vidyalaya Campus. It’s right near the Baroda Express Highway in the CTM area of Ahmedabad. You can hear the traffic from the highway sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way. We are mostly focused on education and training people who want to become teachers. The campus is a decent size, and we share it with other school activities. It’s a busy place during the week. We have classrooms that have seen a lot of use over the years. The desks are wooden and sturdy, and the blackboards are usually covered in notes. We spend a lot of time talking to students about their lesson plans and how to manage a classroom. It’s practical stuff. In Gujarat, we take our education seriously, and we try to do our part here in Ahmedabad. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s mostly just teachers talking to future teachers. Sometimes we sit out in the common area during breaks to get some air. The office is usually full of files and stacks of paper because there’s a lot of record-keeping in this line of work. We’ve been at this CTM location for a while, and the neighbors know us. It’s just a regular college where people come to get their work done and prepare for their careers. No one here is trying to be anything we aren't, we just do the work.
