Our shop is number 5 in Sanjay Estate, which sits right near where Maniyar Trallar is on Nagarvel Road. If you've ever been to Rakhial, you know the roads are always full of people and vehicles trying to squeeze through. It’s an industrial patch of Ahmedabad that never really sleeps. We spend our mornings opening up the shutters and dusting off the desks. The steel pieces we handle are heavy and usually leave marks on the floor, but that’s just how it is. It’s not a showroom; it’s a working shop. We deal with people who are usually in a hurry to get back to their own workshops. Sometimes the tea stall guy next door brings over a tray and we take ten minutes to breathe. The air in Rakhial is full of the smell of metal and engine oil. We don’t have fancy air conditioning, just a few fans that move the hot air around. Sometimes the paperwork gets piled up on the corner of the table because we are too busy out front. We’ve been at this location for a while now, and the neighbors are all doing similar things. We share the same problems like the traffic jams on Nagarvel Road or the rain flooding the entrance during monsoon. Shree Sadhi Steel is just a small part of this big industrial puzzle, and we are happy just getting through the day’s tasks.
