Shree Mummadevi Fabrication

Our workshop, Shree Mummadevi Fabrication, sits right on the 120 Ft. Ring Road in Ghodasar. We are just opposite Janpath Society and not far from the Mangleshwar Mahadev Mandir. It’s a good spot because the big trucks can get to us easily from the main road. The sound of the bells from the temple sometimes carries over when it’s quiet, which is nice. Most of the time though, it’s the sound of grinding and metal hitting metal. We do a lot of different types of fabrication work here. It’s a hot job, especially in the summer, but we have some fans going to keep the air moving. We don't have a fancy office, just a small corner with a table where we talk to people who come in. We’ve been here in Ghodasar for several years and have seen the neighborhood change a bit. We just keep doing our thing, welding and cutting and putting things together. Sometimes we run out of gas for the torches or a machine breaks down, and we have to scramble to fix it. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s ours. We just hope the stuff we build works well for people, even if we don’t talk about it in a big way. It’s just about doing the job so people can use what we built. We usually have a bit of a mess in the yard, but we know where everything is.
