Shiva Foundry

Shiva Foundry is located at Plot No. 4010 in Phase IV of the G.I.D.C. Estate in Vatva. It’s a heavy industrial area, so there’s always a lot of smoke and dust in the air. Our foundry isn’t a massive place, but we have enough room for the furnace and the sand molds we use for casting. Working with molten metal is hot and tiring, especially in the middle of the day, but it’s what we do. We don't have a lobby or a fancy sign out front. The office is just a small room with a fan that makes a bit of a racket. We keep our accounts in old-fashioned ledgers because that’s what we’re used to. Most of our workers have been pouring metal for a long time and they have a real feel for the work. You can usually hear the furnace humming from the main gate. We take on the smaller casting jobs that the big companies don’t want to bother with. It keeps us busy and the lights on. Sometimes the traffic in the estate makes it hard for delivery trucks to get in, so we have to coordinate with the neighbors. It’s a gritty, tough environment, and our clothes are always stained with soot. We don't try to hide that. It’s just the reality of running a foundry in Vatva.
