We’ve been at 15, Ajay Estate for quite a long time now. If you know the Rakhial area, we’re right opposite the Dena Bank, which is a good landmark for people trying to find the shop for the first time. It’s a busy part of town, always lots of noise and traffic near Keval Kanta, but that’s just how it is here. Inside the workshop, things are usually pretty loud too. We work with metal every day, and it isn’t the cleanest job, but it’s what we know. My hands are usually covered in some kind of grease or dust by lunchtime. We don't have a big fancy office or anyone sitting at a front desk with a suit on. It’s mostly just us in the back, making sure the orders are getting done. Sometimes the machines act up or the power goes out, and we have to figure it out on the fly. That's just part of running a place like this in an industrial estate. We’ve seen many businesses come and go around here, but we just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s a practical life. People stop by to check on their stuff, we have some tea, and then we get back to the grinding and cutting. It’s not a glamorous setup, but it works for us and the people we supply. We just try to get the dimensions right and move on to the next task on the list.
