Sethi Metal Industries

Sethi Metal Industries is tucked away at number 136 in the G.V.M.M. Industrial Estate over in Odhav. It’s a pretty standard spot for a metal shop. We have a lot of raw material coming in and out every week. The smell of oil and cut metal is pretty much part of the furniture here. We started small and stayed that way because it’s easier to manage. In Odhav, everyone knows everyone, so we often see the same faces at the local tea stall. Our space is filled with lathes and cutters. It’s not the quietest place to spend a day, but we like the pace. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a batch of parts, but that's just part of the job. We don't do much advertising. People usually find us through word of mouth or by just driving through the estate. The floor is concrete and hard on the feet, so we all wear thick boots. We handle all sorts of metalwork, nothing too fancy, just the basics that people need. We keep our tools sharp and our clocks set a few minutes fast so we're never late. It’s a simple setup, and it works for us. We're just here every day doing the work. The radio in the corner usually plays some old songs to keep us going during the long afternoons. Lunch is usually a quiet affair where we sit on crates and talk about nothing in particular.
