We have been operating out of Subhanpura here in Vadodara for quite a while now. Most people around this part of town know the G 5 Sreeje Astha Avenue building, which is where we handle all our daily paperwork and meetings. It is not a fancy glass tower, just a regular office space where we get our work done. We deal with industrial materials, mostly recycling and chemicals, which can sound quite complicated to outsiders but it is really just about managing our supplies and making sure things move from point A to point B without too much trouble. The weather in Vadodara gets really hot during the summer, so we usually try to get the heavy work and phone calls done early in the morning. Our desks are usually covered in piles of files, loose notes, and tea cups. Some of us have been working here for many years, so we have become more like a group of neighbors than just coworkers. We spend a lot of time talking to vendors on the phone. It is a busy spot, especially with all the traffic that builds up around Subhanpura in the evenings. We do not have a big fancy lobby to impress people. If you come by, you will probably just see us typing away or chatting about the day’s tasks. It is a steady job and we just take it one day at a time. The office has that specific smell of old paper and printer ink. We just try to keep things moving along.
