Arcee Dye Chem

Arcee Dye Chem is located at 41/A inside Maskati Market. This is in the Railwaypura area of Ahmedabad. If you know Ahmedabad, you know how crowded and busy this market gets. It is always full of people and carts moving goods. Our shop is just one of many, but we’ve been here a long time. We deal with dyes and chemicals for the textile trade mostly. You can often see stains on the floor from different colors we’ve handled over the years. The shelves are packed with tins and bags of powder. It’s quite dusty and the smell of chemicals is always there in the air. We have a small wooden desk where we do the billing. There is usually a fan humming in the corner to keep the heat away, but it doesn't do much in the summer. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here. We have our tea together in the afternoons. It’s a tight space, so we have to be careful how we stack the inventory. Sometimes the delivery trucks can’t get close because of the traffic, so we have to carry things quite a distance. It’s just the way things work in Railwaypura. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just know to come to 41/A when they need something. It’s an old school way of doing business that still works fine for us today.
