Prakalpan Architects

Our office is located at 12, Rupak Society, which is right near Darpan Circle in Naranpura. It’s a fairly quiet spot compared to the main roads, which is good when we need to concentrate on drawings and plans. Prakalpan Architects is basically just a small group of us working around desks piled high with rolls of paper and various samples. The walls are mostly covered in sketches and notes we’ve pinned up over the weeks. We spend a lot of time staring at screens or talking over a table about how to fix a specific corner of a design. It isn't a slick, high-end studio like you see on TV. There are usually half-empty tea cups sitting around and a bit of dust on the windowsills. We’ve been in this Naranpura neighborhood for a bit now, and we like that people can just drop in if they are nearby. Sometimes the printer acts up right when we have a deadline, or we realize we’ve run out of coffee, but we manage. We aren't trying to be anything other than a working office. We focus on the lines and the measurements and making sure the math works out for whatever project is on the desk that day. It’s practical work, and we just try to keep things steady and get the drawings out the door so the builders can do their part.
