JIGNESH PAREKH ARCHITECT INTERIOR DESIGNER (CEPT)

This is the office of Jignesh Parekh, where I work as an architect and interior designer. I studied at CEPT, and that training stays with me in everything I do here. My workspace is at 9, Nutan Society, right behind the Suvidha Shopping Centre in Paldi, Ahmedabad. It’s a very familiar neighborhood for many people. The office is part of a regular society building, so it feels more like a home than a corporate space. I have my drawing boards and my computer setup here. Paldi is a central area, so it's easy for people to drop by after they finish their shopping at Suvidha. I spend most of my day working on interior layouts and structural ideas. It gets a bit cluttered with samples of tiles, wood, and paint swatches everywhere. That’s just the nature of interior design, I suppose. I don't really believe in having a polished, perfect office. It’s a place for work, and work is often messy. I handle the projects from start to finish, from the first line on paper to the final touch on-site. Ahmedabad is a city with a lot of history in architecture, and I just try to contribute my bit to it from this small corner in Nutan Society. It’s a quiet life, mostly focused on the drawings and the people who come to see them. I usually keep some tea ready for whoever stops by to discuss their house.
