Shree Maruti Courier Services Pvt. Ltd. is up on the fifth floor of the Titanium building, right across from the Prahlad Nagar Garden. It’s a busy spot on 100 Feet Road in Ahmedabad. If you look out the window, you can see people walking in the park, but we don’t usually have much time for that. This is a courier business, so it’s always moving. Envelopes, boxes, packets—they come in and go out all day long. We spend a lot of time on the phone or tracking where a certain bike or van is. It can get pretty loud in here when the phones are ringing and people are sorting through the latest delivery. We aren't doing anything complicated; we just make sure a package gets from point A to point B. Sometimes the rain slows things down or a bike breaks down, and then we have to scramble to fix the schedule. It’s not a glamorous job, but it's important for the people waiting for their mail. We’ve got a lot of delivery guys who are out in the heat every day, and they’re really the ones doing the hard part. Here in the office, we just keep the records straight and make sure the labels are right. It’s a lot of paperwork and clicking on keyboards. We start early and usually stay until the last bag is sorted. It’s just how the courier life goes. We've been at this for years and it's always the same rush.
