You can find Gurudev Dyestuff (India) Pvt. Ltd. over at Plot No. 541 in Phase-2 of the Vatva GIDC. It’s a big industrial zone, and we’ve been part of it for many years now. Our focus is mainly on dyes. The building is a bit older, and you can tell we’ve done a lot of work inside those walls. There are pipes everywhere and big vats for the colors. It’s a lot of manual labor, lifting bags and checking temperatures. We don't have a lot of fancy technology. Most of the process is done the way we’ve always done it, because it works. The air usually smells a bit like chemicals, but you get used to it after the first ten minutes. We have a small team, and everyone knows their job. There’s no need for big speeches or mission statements here. We just want to get the batches right so the customers are happy. Sometimes a machine breaks down or a shipment is late, and we just deal with it as it comes. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We keep our heads down and do the work. The GIDC is a noisy place, but we like the energy of it. It feels like things are actually getting made here, which is a good feeling at the end of the day. We finish our shift, wash up, and head home.
