If you go down to Plot No. 77/9 in Phase-1, GIDC, Vatva, you’ll find us at Varun Engineers. It is just another one of those industrial sheds that keeps the world moving, really. We’ve got our machines set up, and there’s usually a pile of raw materials near the entrance waiting to be moved or used. The work we do here isn't something you see in a shiny magazine or a television ad. It’s oily, it’s heavy, and it requires a lot of standing around on hard floors all day long. Sometimes the heat in Vatva gets to be a bit much, especially in the middle of May, but we just keep the water cooler filled and keep going. We don’t have a lot of time for fancy talk or making ourselves sound bigger than we are. We are just a local engineering outfit that handles parts and repairs for various clients who know exactly where to find us. The address is easy enough to spot once you get into the rhythm of the GIDC lanes and the heavy truck traffic. People stop by to discuss specs or just to check on how a job is progressing before the end of the shift. We mostly communicate through grease-smudged notes and phone calls over the constant noise of the drills and grinders. It’s a busy life, and there’s always something that needs oiling or a bit of adjustment. We just stick to what we know, which is the mechanical stuff and physical labor.
