Slurry Pumps & Engineers

Our shop, Slurry Pumps & Engineers, is spread across Plot No. 38/B/6 and 38/B/7 in Phase-1, GIDC, Vatva. Having two plots gives us a bit more room to move the heavy pumps around. These things are not light, so we need the space and the cranes to handle them properly. The air in the workshop usually smells like metal and oil. We spend most of our time assembling parts or fixing old pumps that have seen better days. It is hard work, and it can get quite hot in the afternoons under the tin roof. We don't have a big fancy reception area. If someone comes to see us, they usually just walk into the main work area. We show them what we are working on and talk about the specs right there on the floor. We aren't interested in sounding corporate or using big words. If a pump works, it works. That is what we care about at the end of the day. The guys on the floor know their stuff because they have been doing it for years. We get a lot of dust in from the road, but that is GIDC for you. We keep our tools organized as best as we can and try to keep a steady pace. It is a simple operation, run by people who know machines. We just stay here in Vatva and do the work. It is not always easy, but we have built a life here.
