Sahkar Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. is situated at Plot No. 38/A/1 in the first phase of G.I.D.C. Vatva. It is a bit different from the heavy engineering shops around here because we have to keep things a lot cleaner. We spend a lot of time on cleaning and making sure everything is according to the rules for making medicine. It's a lot of paperwork and checking batches. The office is right at the front, and the production area is behind. We have a small lab where we test things out. It is not a huge facility, but we manage our space well. Most of the people working here have been with us for a long time. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in the world. We just want to make sure the stuff we produce is safe and does what it is supposed to. The traffic in Vatva can be a headache, especially when trucks are trying to load up near our gate. We just try to keep things moving. There is no big marketing talk here. We talk to our suppliers and the distributors, and that is mostly it. Life at Plot 38/A/1 is about staying focused on the batches. Sometimes things go slow, sometimes it's a rush. We just take it as it comes. We’ve been here for many years and have gotten to know the rhythms of the industrial estate quite well. It's simple work but it needs care.
