If you ever find yourself over in Phase-4 of GIDC Vatva, you’ll find us at Plot No. 5316. Jemond Rubber has been sitting here for a while. The first thing you notice when you get close is the smell of raw rubber. It’s a strong scent, but it means we are working. We have these big presses that generate a lot of heat, which makes the workshop pretty warm during the day. We make all sorts of rubber parts. Some are small and some are quite bulky. It’s messy work. There is usually black dust around and the molds need constant cleaning and greasing. We aren't a huge operation, just a group of people who know how to handle the material. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the morning fixing a leak or a heater, but that is part of the life here. We don't have any polished sales people. Usually, you’ll just talk to one of us who has been working on the machines. We keep our tools organized as best we can, but it’s a busy place and things end up where they shouldn't sometimes. We just focus on making sure the rubber cures right and the shapes come out clean. Vatva is a crowded area, so getting trucks in and out of the plot can be a bit of a squeeze, but we manage it every day. It is just how things are here.
