Surya Rang Udyog

Surya Rang Udyog is located out in Phase-2 of the GIDC in Vatva, right at Plot No. 8011. If you know Vatva at all, you know it gets pretty hot and very crowded during the work day. We spend most of our time here dealing with different dyes and pigments. There is color on almost everything in the shop, from the floor tiles to the workers’ old overalls. It is honestly pretty hard to keep things white or clean around here for more than five minutes. We’ve been at this specific plot for quite a bit of time now. It’s a sturdy building, though the roof does leak a little bit when the monsoon hits particularly hard in July. We just put some buckets out and keep our heads down. The neighbors are all other industrial shops, so there is always the constant sound of hammers or engines running in the background. We try to start very early, usually before the sun gets too high in the sky, because the heat inside the metal shed can get quite intense by noon. We aren’t some big corporation with different departments and managers for every little thing. It is just a few of us making sure the batches come out looking right. Sometimes we run out of tea midway through a Tuesday afternoon, which is the only real emergency we ever face. We pack everything into heavy bags and load them onto the small tempos. It’s a simple life at 8011.
