Vasudev Dyechem Pvt. Ltd. operates out of Plot No. 56/B/1 in Phase-1 of the GIDC in Vatva. Being in Phase-1 means we are right in the thick of the older industrial section of Ahmedabad. Our plot is tucked away among a lot of other chemical units, and you can usually tell you are close by the different smells and the colors you see on the ground. The factory floor is almost never one single color because of the dyes we handle. Even our shoes usually end up with some blue or red stains on them by the end of the week. It’s a gritty place to work, but we don’t mind it much. We have a small office section at 56/B/1, but most of the real action happens in the mixing and processing area. We don't have a lot of fancy automated systems; a lot of the work is still done by hand by people who have been doing this for decades. The rainy season can be a bit of a challenge because the roads around Vatva sometimes get flooded, but we usually manage to keep things moving. We aren't here to impress anyone with a shiny building or a big reception area. We just focus on getting the chemical batches right and making sure the drums are loaded onto the trucks on time. It is a steady, predictable life for most of us here.
