Down at Plot No. C1-20 & 21 in Vatva, you'll find Gujarat Varnish Mfg Co. We occupy two plots in Phase-1, which gives us enough room for our mixing tanks and storage. There’s always a faint smell of resin and solvents in the air here, which you get used to after the first ten minutes. It’s an old-school manufacturing setup. We spend our time making sure the batches of varnish come out right. The floor is concrete and has some spills here and there from years of work. Our workers know the routine by heart now. We don't use any high-tech gadgets for everything; a lot of it is just manual checking and making sure the temperature is where it needs to be. Vatva is a crowded area, so getting trucks in and out of the gate can be a bit of a squeeze sometimes. We have been part of this industrial community for a long time. It’s not a glamorous job, but wood and metal need coating, so we stay busy. We don't have a marketing team or anyone sitting in a suit. Most of us are in work clothes, dealing with barrels and cans all day. If a customer needs a specific type of finish, we talk it over and see what we can do. It's just a regular local business trying to do honest work. We aren't looking for awards, just looking to finish the day's orders.
