We’re located in the Mahashakti Estate, which is right behind the Puskar Complex on L.B.S. Road. Bapunagar is a crowded part of Ahmedabad, and our estate is no different. Finding unit number 7 can be a bit of a challenge because the lanes all look the same, but we’re near the Aravind Estate side. At J S Coating Chemicals, we spend most of our time mixing and moving drums. The smell of chemicals is something you just get used to after a week of working here. It’s a practical business. We aren't sitting in air-conditioned offices; we’re out there on the floor making sure the batches are mixed right. The walls have splashes of different colors from years of work. We get a lot of trucks coming in and out, so the yard is always busy and a bit dusty. We’ve known the neighbors in the Puskar Complex for years, and we all help each other out when someone needs a hand moving something heavy. We don't go in for fancy brochures or sales pitches. We just provide the coatings that people need for their projects. It’s hard work, and we go home tired, but it’s what we know. The estate can get really hot during the summer months, so we try to get the heavy mixing done early in the morning before the sun gets too high.
