Down here in Phase-1 of the GIDC in Vatva, you’ll find us at Plot No. 146/2. It’s a busy part of the estate, and Dhara Colourchem has been part of the landscape for some time. We deal with colors and chemicals every day, so there’s always something interesting happening in the lab or on the floor. It’s not the cleanest work, as you can imagine, but we’ve got our systems down. The air usually has that faint chemical smell that you get used to after a week or two. We start our shifts early to beat the Vatva traffic, which can get pretty bad in the afternoons. Inside the gate, it’s mostly just us and our equipment. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything; we just focus on making sure the batches come out okay. If a customer calls, they usually talk to whoever is closest to the phone. We try to keep things simple. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the roads around the plot a bit messy, but we manage to keep things moving. It’s a solid place to work if you don't mind the physical side of things. We’ve got a small break area where we eat lunch and talk about the news or whatever is going on. It’s a straightforward life here at Plot 146/2. We do the work, we pack the goods, and we start again the next day. It’s just how we operate and it works for us.
