At Plot B-1, 90/3 in Phase-1 of the GIDC at Vatva, the air always feels heavy. It is an old industrial area, and we have been part of it for quite a while now. Our day starts early before the heat gets too bad, though in the middle of summer, there is no escaping it. We deal with a lot of chemicals and dyes, so there is always a certain smell around the place and stains on the floor that never quite come out. It’s just the nature of what we do at Denim Colourchem Pvt. Ltd. The workers here are mostly locals who have been in the chemical trade their whole lives. We don't have a big HR department or a PR team; it's mostly the owners and the floor staff working side by side. The gate at Phase-1 is always busy with tankers and trucks moving in and out, which makes for a lot of dust. We try to keep our section organized, but with so many barrels and bags, it is a constant struggle. We don't spend much on decorations or fancy furniture because it just wouldn't make sense in this environment. Everything here is for a purpose. When the shift ends, there’s a bit of a rush to the tea shop at the corner before everyone heads home. It is a tough environment, but it is honest work and we have been doing it this way for years.
