Paraflat

Paraflat is located over in Padi, at number 10 Bagiyathiammal Nagar. It’s a residential-looking street, so people sometimes miss us. We have been working from this spot for a while. We aren’t a large company with a hundred employees. It’s just a handful of us who know the trade. The workshop area is in the back. It stays pretty cool back there even when the Chennai sun is beating down. We do a lot of manual work. Our hands are usually stained with ink or grease. We don't have a fancy showroom. If someone wants to see what we do, they just come into the workspace. It’s a bit messy with tools and materials everywhere. We try to sweep up at the end of the day, but it never stays clean for long. The local tea seller comes by every afternoon, and that’s usually when we take a break. We talk about the news or the cricket scores. It’s a relaxed atmosphere. We don't like being rushed. We take our time to make sure things are done the right way. People in the neighborhood know us by name. We’ve lived around here most of our lives. It’s just a small local business trying to do good work for the people who need it. We aren't trying to change the world. We just want to do our jobs and go home to our families.
