Sara Plastic

Sara Plastic is located at Shed No. 21 in the Shree Ram Estate. We are pretty close to the Anup Engineering compound, right near the Sone Ni Chawl Char Rasta in Odhav. The estate is a busy place with lots of small factories. In our shed, we have machines that run almost all day long. It gets very noisy and the smell of heating plastic is something you just get used to after a while. We have been working out of this spot for years. The floor is concrete and usually covered with little plastic bits or scraps from the production. It’s a lot of manual work, moving heavy bags of raw material and checking the molds. We usually keep the big sliding door open to get some air in, especially when it’s hot. Sone Ni Chawl is a well-known landmark, so people find us easily enough. There are no fancy decorations in the shed, just the machinery and some old wooden chairs in the corner for breaks. We eat our lunch while sitting near the entrance where it's a bit cooler. The work is steady and repetitive, but it’s what we know how to do. Trucks come by the Shree Ram Estate throughout the afternoon to pick up what we’ve made. It’s just a regular industrial life for us here in Odhav, and we just keep at it every day until the work is finished.
