Maruti Plastics

Maruti Plastics is situated at 192/204 in the Gujarat Vepari Mahamandal Estate, over in Odhav, Ahmedabad. The estate is huge, and it’s always packed with activity, especially in the mornings when the shifts change. Our unit is filled with the sound of the injection molding machines and the smell of warm plastic. We have bags of raw plastic granules stacked up against the walls, sometimes reaching almost to the roof. It gets pretty hot in here during the Ahmedabad summers, even with the big exhaust fans running all the time. We mostly just focus on keeping the machines fed and making sure the molds are coming out clean without any defects. The floor is covered in those little plastic pellets that seem to get everywhere no matter how much we sweep. Odhav is a tough, hardworking part of the city, and we fit right in. We don't have a fancy office for meetings; usually, we just talk to people out on the shop floor or near the loading dock. Most of our day is spent watching the cycles and packing the finished parts into crates for shipping. It’s repetitive work, but there is a certain rhythm to it that keeps us moving from Monday through Saturday. We just do our part in the big machine of the estate and try to keep things organized despite the constant mess. It is just how it goes.
