Patel Steel Perforators

Patel Steel Perforators is located at Plot No. L/533/1 in the GIDC. Our main work is putting holes in metal sheets, which is what perforation is all about. We have these big punching machines that make a lot of noise. Every time the press comes down, the whole floor vibrates a little bit. We have stacks of different metals like stainless steel and aluminum waiting to be processed. The scrap metal bits, the little circles we punch out, get collected in bins to be recycled. It’s a repetitive job, but you have to be careful with the alignment or the whole sheet is wasted. The GIDC is a good place for us because we are close to our material suppliers. Our unit isn't very big, and it's mostly filled with the machines and the raw material. We have a small table where we keep our tea mugs and a few logbooks. There isn't any air conditioning, just some big fans to keep the air moving. We just focus on getting the patterns right for the customers. It’s a practical business and we don't try to make it sound like more than it is. We just work with steel all day. If you walk by, you’ll definitely hear us before you see us.
