Atlas Laminate Industries

Our place, Atlas Laminate Industries, is at Plot No. L-105 in the Gidc area. If you’ve ever been to a Gidc, you know how it is—rows of sheds, trucks everywhere, and a lot of industrial activity. We make laminates here, so the factory floor is usually covered in various sheets and materials. It’s not a quiet environment. There is the constant sound of the presses and the smell of the resins we use. We’ve been at this for a while, just focusing on getting the production right. Our team is mostly local guys who show up every shift to keep the machines running. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the sheets coming off the line because if one thing goes wrong with the temperature or the pressure, the whole batch is ruined. The office is just a small corner partitioned off from the main shop floor where we keep the ledgers and handle the orders. It gets pretty hot in the summer, especially near the machinery. We don't have any big corporate goals; we just want to make sure the orders are filled and the trucks are loaded on time. It’s hard work, and at the end of the day, we’re usually covered in a bit of dust. But it’s what we do, and we’ve gotten pretty good at the routine of it. We usually close up late and head home once the last truck has been sent out for delivery to the city.
