Chase Metal Industries

We’ve been working out of 304 Vijay Industrial Estate for quite a while now. Being in Odhav, right by the Bhikshukhgruh, means it’s always busy around here. It’s an industrial area so there is always noise from the machines and trucks coming in and out. At Chase Metal Industries, we just focus on the metal work. It’s not a clean job, and most days we go home covered in dust and grease. We don’t have any fancy reception area or a big team of sales people. It’s mostly just us on the floor making sure things get done. Some of the equipment has been with us since the start and we know exactly how it behaves. If a machine makes a weird sound, we usually know what’s wrong before we even look. The shop isn’t huge but we make it work. Sometimes we have to move stuff around just to find space for a new order. People stop by to check on their stuff and we just talk shop. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living. We aren’t trying to be the biggest place in Ahmedabad. We just want to do the job right so we can come back tomorrow. The neighborhood is mostly other workshops like ours. We all kind of know each other. It’s just how things are in this part of town. We keep the gates open and stay busy from morning till late. It's a lot of sweating and heavy lifting, but that's what the job is.
