Our shop is at H/12 in the Sakriba Estate, which is right behind the Indo-German Tool-Room in Phase-4 of GIDC Vatva. It is a heavy industrial area, so there is always the sound of machinery and trucks moving around the lanes. Neel Engineers is not a place with fancy carpets or soft lighting. We have high ceilings, heavy tools, and a concrete floor that has seen a lot of hard work over the years. The air usually carries a faint scent of oil and cut metal, which is pretty standard for this part of town. We start early most mornings to beat the heat before it really sets in during the afternoon. There is a small desk in the corner where we keep the ledgers and handle the phone calls, but most of the action happens on the main shop floor. The light comes in through the big rolling doors at the front, and we have some sturdy benches for the engineering tasks. It is a bit dusty because of the neighboring units, but we try to keep our own space organized enough to work. Sometimes the power cuts out for a few minutes, so we just take a break and sit outside for some air. We have been in this spot for a while, and the other guys in the estate are good neighbors. We help each other out with tools if someone is stuck on a job. It is a practical way to earn a living.
