Navakar Metal (India)

Navakar Metal (India) is located on Ponnappa Chetty Street. If you know Park Town, you know it is tight and busy. Our shop is full of metal. We have sheets and rods and all sorts of parts leaning against the walls. It smells like iron and oil in here, which is just part of the job. We have been here for years, dealing with whatever the local builders or workshops need. Sometimes the street gets so blocked with carts and people that we have to wait a long time to move our stock. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just us and the metal. We use cutters and measuring tools all day long. My hands are usually a bit dirty from moving things around the warehouse. People stop by because they know we have what they are looking for in the back. It is a noisy place, especially when the trucks are unloading. We just try to get the measurements right and make sure the customer gets what they paid for. There is no point in being fancy about it. It is heavy work and it is honest. We start early when the air is still a bit cool. By midday, it is hot and loud, but we just keep going. That is how life is in Park Town for us. We have old fans that don't do much, but we are used to the heat by now. It is just a metal shop where we work every day.
