We are located at 44, Calico Nagar. It’s right near that Sardarpatel Estate in the Narol area of Ahmedabad. If you’ve been to Narol, you know it’s busy. We spend most of our time at Galaxy Colchem Pvt. Ltd. dealing with different chemicals and colors. The floor is usually stained with whatever we were mixing the day before. It’s a lot of manual work, moving drums around and making sure the lids are on tight. The air always has a bit of a smell to it, but you get used to it after a week. My desk is tucked in the corner, covered in papers and some old coffee mugs. We’ve got a small team here. Most of us live nearby, so we just walk or take a bike to work. Ahmedabad gets really hot, so the fans are always running, even if they just move the warm air around. We’ve been in this spot for years. It’s nothing special to look at from the outside, just a regular industrial building with a heavy door. Sometimes the neighbors from the estate come by to chat or borrow a tool. We keep things pretty simple. No one wears a suit here, just work clothes that we don’t mind getting dirty. We just try to get the batches right and get them out the door so we can go home. It is a lot of repetitive work, but we are used to it.
