Avon Enterprise

We run Avon Enterprise out of Godowns 27 to 29 in Phase 2 of the GIDC. It’s a large, functional space that we’ve used for a long time. Our work is mainly about storage and moving goods around the region. The godowns are tall and filled with stacks of crates and boxes. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find a fancy office or air conditioning. We spend our days tracking inventory and loading up the trucks that come through the gates. It’s physical work and can be quite tiring when a big shipment arrives unexpectedly. We’ve got a small crew of guys who are good with their hands and don’t mind a bit of heavy lifting. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed despite all the activity. We know the truck drivers who pass through and the other warehouse workers in Phase 2. We don’t do any big promotions or advertising. Our business has grown just by word of mouth and being around for so many years. We keep the paperwork on an old wooden desk in the corner, but the real business happens out on the floor with the pallets. It’s a practical, no-nonsense setup. We focus on making sure things arrive and leave when they’re supposed to. There’s always something to move or a shelf to organize. It’s a steady rhythm that we’ve grown used to. We’re just here doing our job in the middle of the industrial estate.
