Our place, Narmada Foundry Pvt. Ltd., is right at 87/1, G.I.D.C. Estate in Odhav. It’s easy to find because we are right opposite the second gate and across from Ambica Nagar. Working in a foundry is never clean or quiet. It’s hot work and the air always smells like metal and sand. We have been doing this for years in this same spot. The building has seen better days but it holds up and keeps the rain out. We aren't interested in making things look perfect for a brochure. The real work happens on the floor where the molds are. People around Odhav know us as a place that just stays busy. We don't have a marketing department or anyone to answer phones with a script. Usually someone just yells for the person you need to talk to. It’s loud and busy from early morning until we shut down. We deal with iron and heat every single day. If you come by you’ll see the guys working in the soot. It’s not a place for clean clothes. We take the orders as they come and we try to get them out when we said we would. Sometimes equipment breaks and we have to fix it ourselves. That’s just life at Narmada Foundry Pvt. Ltd. in the GIDC estate. We are just part of the industrial landscape here. No frills. It is a basic way of life and we have gotten used to the heat.
