Manu Diamond

Being up on the second floor of the Ankur Complex at A-1 makes things a bit different for us at Manu Diamond. We don’t get a lot of people just walking in off the street because they have to bother with the stairs or the lift. It is a lot quieter up here than it is on the ground floor. We work with diamonds, so we really need that extra bit of focus and peace. The light in this office is actually quite good in the morning hours. We have a few old desks pushed together where we do most of the sorting and grading. It is not a very large space, but it is plenty for the three of us who work here. We spend a lot of our time peering through loupes and talking about the stones. Sometimes the lift in the complex breaks down, and then we have to climb all those stairs, which isn't very fun in the heat. We have been in this building for several years now. You get to know the security guards and the folks in the other offices nearby. We usually bring our own food from home for lunch. It is a simple routine that works well for us. We are not trying to impress anyone with a fancy lobby or expensive furniture. We just care about the stones we have on the table. It is a slow process, but we don't like to rush.
