Naminath Steel

Our office is Plot No. 903 in Loha Bhavan on Ashram Road. Being near the Income Tax office means there is always a lot of traffic and people moving around outside. Loha Bhavan is full of people in the steel trade, so it’s a very familiar environment for us. We have been operating from this plot for many years. It isn’t a glamorous job, dealing with steel and all the heavy work that comes with it, but it’s what we do. The office itself is quite simple, mostly just desks and computers and a lot of registers for tracking our inventory. The heat in Ahmedabad can be quite something, especially in an area with so much metal around, so we mostly stay indoors with the fans going. We spend most of the day talking to transporters and making sure the steel gets to where it’s supposed to go. There’s a lot of shouting and noise from the road, but we’ve learned to work through it. We don't really do much in the way of promotion. We just rely on the fact that we've been at this address for a long time and people know where to find us. It’s a lot of coordination and paperwork, but we’ve got a good system going. We just take things as they come and try to keep the business running without too many hiccups.
